Sturdy - Solid
Certain trees are reputed for their sturdy yet solid wood. Whole straight boughs and young trunks can be used for more substantial support beams and ground level shelters

- Tree; Whitebeam - Sorbus; Asia, Europe.
- Tree; Hawthorn - Crataegus; temperate northern hemisphere.
- Tree; Dogwood - Cornaceae; eastern N America.
Sturdy - Pliable - Elastic
These woods would be good for platforms, screens & roofs.
- Tree; Ash, European - Fraxinus excelsior, White Ash F Americana, Black Ash/Water Ash
- Tree; Strawberry tree - F Sambucifolia; temperate northern hemispere.
- Tree; Beech - Fagus; temperate northern hemisphere, Beech Southern - Nothofagus; Australasia.
- Tree; Eucalyptus - Australia, Eurasia.
- Tree; Hornbeam - Carpinus; temperate northern hemisphere.
- Tree; Sycamore, European - Pseudoplatanu, Acers; Europe.
- Tree; Yew - Taxus; northern hemispere.
Thin - Pliable
Use thinner, bendy poles for the frameworks of screens, doors, window shutters, fire reflectors and wind breaks, evane walls and roofs. Thinner branches still can be used to further weave throughout the framework( Camp craft - Lattice)
