There is a lot of fun to be had building shelters.

Every shelter situation is unique, dependant on where you are, available materials and your reasons for building one,  and there is a great sensce of satisfaction when you have finished...if they ever are truly finished! In a survival situation, unless you are in a moderate climate that allows you to sleep directly under the stars, some sort of shelter will be necessary, and in extreme climates ~ essential. A good shelter can protect you from the worst of weather.

In this section you will find in depth information, explanations and demonstrations of many different types of shelter constructions.

From quick makeshift shelters that will serve a purpose, to more carefully considered temporary and semi permanent ones. We offer helpful  guidelines for choosing the best possible place to situate your shelter, with hands on demonstations of how  to constuct them from a variety of materials.

Some of the equipment used in our demonstrations can be found in our kit store where you can look through our carefully picked selection of worthy survival equipment.
