Great quality and intelligent design as expected from the Extrema Ratio Knives Division and of course made from super strong steel, this knife is an excellent choice for a powerful yet easy to control backup survival knife you can completely depend on in almost any tough situation.
The Fulcrum C is a proven design and has been tested in many hostile environments around the world with excellent results, N690 full tang blade make this a great choice for the serious survivalist or outdoorsman.
This knife at 210mm overalll length is the little brother of the 'Fulcrum S' (280mm overall length) which is in turn the little brother of the full sized 'Fulcrum' (310mm overall length) of the Extrema Ratio Fulcrum Series.
The Fulcrum C weighs in at 200 grams with a blade length of just 110mm with an overall length of 210mm leaving 100mm for the Forprene handle which is smaller than the full sized models and makes it easier to use as a heavier duty knife for people with smaller hands.
The Fulcrum C is extremely tough and easily capable of withstanding the toughest of jobs without fear of it breaking when you need it most and holding a sharp edge after heavy work thanks to the professionally treated N690C Steel.
The design produces an extremely strong tool with a powerful Tanto tip and a part serrated edge that will stay sharp for longer and lends itself well to rope cutting and similar duties.
This knife feels indestructable in the hand with a 6.3mm thick blade no cutting job is too much for this little work horse. The blade keeps a razor sharp edge even under heavy use and is easy to control.
Small but solid build make this knife useful in most situations needing a solid dependable blade and it's firm grip and tanto blade tip allow for precision work.
Blade steel is the fantastic N690C hardened to HRC58 for a super sharp and long lasting edge. This steel is produced in Austria and is often used for scalpel production in the medical industry.
Blades are produced using only N690C, the steel is martensitic enriched with chrome, vanadium, molibdene and cobalt, using the finest homogeneity it is transformed into plate for a crossed lamination/rolling.
Extrema Ratio have nearly ten years experience using this steel and produce a fine srvival knife steel from it. The steel is cut by high power laser, vacuum thermo treatment and is finally given a special sand blasting.
Protected through burnishing and carbonitruration creating a strong resitance to corrosion which will satisfy even the most demanding military expectations.
The handle is made from Forprene which provides a very tough, durable and extremely sure gripped handle material. There is little chance of loosing your grip on this handle even in wet conditions and the material is very comfortable and comes in black or desert tan.
ACBRIt is suitable for hands of small dimensions, male or female, and for use with thermal gloves. It is made from a single piece and is easy to dismantle, allowing for easy maintenance.
The handle is asymmetric but straight, which allows for a fast and natural shift from "saber" to "reverse" grip while leaving the end of the tang free as a rope guide or for use as a blunt instrument.
The Fulcrum C comes with a Tek-Lok (Blade Tech) hard sheath and can be used in both a standard set up or sideways setup on belt or webbing. Lightweight and low profile to avoid snagging in the field.
The hard Tek-Lok sheath keeps the blade safe in case of shocks or drops and allows for fast blade drying, thanks to the large drainage hole at the bottom of the sheath, while reducing exposure to the elements that help the oxidation process.
Functional and secure, this Tek-Lok sheath compliments the Fulcrum C perfectly.
The smaller handle length on this knife means that people with larger hands will find the chopping action difficult, though there is enough handle to get a sure grip (even with big hands) for most other applications. While lacking the length and front end weight to be much use as a chopping instrument it can still be used in this way for the smaller chopping jobs.
You feel confident to use the knife for all the "all purpose" jobs a good survival knife should be able to deal with, cutting wood and rope, prying and hacking. It oozes strength and reliablity not to mention quality, with a fantastic finish.
The Extrema Ratio Fulcrum C is definately up to the job and more. A survival knife you can depend on completely, with good looks and a great high quality feel.
This knife comes highly recommended by the Survival Info Team as a reliable backup survival knife and has been tried and tested by military units in some of the harshest environments on Earth.
For value for money the Fulcrum series offer a high quality build and finish coupled with using the superb N690C steel these knives are some of the best you will find for the modest price tags.
