The Talon™ from Camelbak is built for military use and therefore exceeds the build specifications of most civilian equipment and is perfect for serious survival and outdoors use.

Overview

This has been a great bit of equipment, well built, tough and reliable, very comfortable in use, holding 3 litres of water with a total volume – 2730 cu in (44.7 l) and has a versatile pack system with multiple storage spaces including top-loading main compartment, side pockets for MRE's or ammo, rear organizer, and a zippered slat pocket for maps, with a main compartment that handles odd-shaped or bulky loads with ease.

This is a well made bit of gear like all the Camelbak range, the stitching is all strong and accurate and no shortage of it wherever it's needed the most.

Designed to carry your mission-essential, "combat-light" load. Exterior six-point strap system lashes down awkward gear.

Build Details

Strong stitching is used throughout and zips are great quality as are the clips. The 3.0 Litre hydration bladder and connectors are or a very high standard and you can see why Camelbak lead the field with their hydration products. No sign of skimping in any areas.

Material Details

Tough, abrasion-resistant 1000D Cordura® is used on the exterior for maximum durability.

Usability

Comfortable yet tough and resilliant, equally good in theatre as on a hike in the woods or even to the shops. Very versatile with just enough space to make this a main grab bag for example. Great zips and clever design  make access easy with lots of pouches inside for storing away items you don't want loose in the main sack. Zipped back panel access makes loading a full reservoir very easy.

Summary

Camelbak say "CamelBak's Talon™ is designed to carry or jump with your mission essential, "combat light" load." But this would be for it's military application and is a great bit of kit for camping or survival situations. The build is to military specifications and is impressive with Integrated MOLLE/PAL attachment system. All made from tough, abrasion-resistant 1000D Cordura® exterior. No skimping on materials here!

Nice bit of equipment to have and looks good too. Camelbak hydration units are hard to beat and the Talon™ comes highly recommended.
