The design produces an extremely strong tool with the blade of the spade able to be set to three different angles depending on the task at hand.
Steel Details
Blade steel is AISI 420 a high grade cutlery steel, with additional carbon introduced for better edge retention when tempored correctly.
Handle
The handle is made from Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon which provides a very tough, durable and extremely sure gripped handle material.
The material is comfortable with a matt texture.
Sheath Details
Comes with either a Black nylon sheath or foliage green Cordura with molle system, both a tough durable material to keep the tool protected from the elements.
| Lock Mechanism
The FKMD Folding Spade feels very durable in the hand. It's compact when closed up and it can be used at different angles in different situations with ease.

The lock mechanism uses a large sprung Pin that lock into the wholes allowing the blade to be locked closed, at 90 ° (hoe), 135 ° (shovel) and 180 ° (spade).
